Imagine arriving at a place there is no electricity, assembling your individual wind turbine and generating sustainable energy in 15 minutes with the force of the wind to charge your phone, computer, or electric bike.
That's what the people of KiteX, a Danish startup, thought, who developed a portable wind turbine, capable of generating energy quickly. (video below)
The device is completely dismountable and can be taken any conveniently. The idea is to make the turbine accessible, especially in more remote locations, with no electricity available.
Named Wind Catcher, what most caught the attention of the portable wind turbine was the chance to have energy in any space.
According to the manufacturers, it only takes 15 minutes for the user to configure the parts and start capturing the energy the wind.
The turbine is made of fiberglass, weighs only 10 kg and is easily transportable. When you don't need it anymore, just unpack it and continue the journey.
The device is still available in two versions: a 200W, ideal for low wind speed climates, and another 600W, which provides enough power to charge electric bicycles and electronic devices in general.
The KiteX team explained that the idea was to create a product for adventurers and nature lovers.
But the project has been gaining proportion and can generate energy in several other circumstances. The perfect source of clean energy for digital nomads, for example!
